You can buy a domain from any reputable registrar that lets you manage DNS records.
Choose the name
Prefer a short, memorable domain based on the venue name. Add the town or area when it avoids ambiguity.
Check spelling carefully before purchasing. Domain registrations are often non-refundable.
Choose the registrar
Compare the renewal price, not only the introductory price. Confirm that the account includes DNS management and decide who in the business will own and renew it.
My Place hosts the venue website, so you normally do not need to buy a separate website builder or hosting package from the registrar.
Protect the account
Use a business-controlled email address, enable multi-factor authentication and store the account details in the organisation's approved password manager.
Keep renewal and payment ownership clear so the domain does not expire when a staff member leaves.
Connect it to My Place
After purchase, open the venue's domain settings in My Place and follow the records shown there. Provider screens differ, but the values inside My Place are the source of truth.
Do not change email-related DNS records unless the connection instructions explicitly require it.
